Time to get your hands dirty and start rummaging through your garage, loft, shed, behind the sofa, under the bed (or maybe not under the bed!) for old stuff that you would be willing to donate to Zanfha for the upcoming car boot sale.

This is one of our fundraiser for the Deaf Children for our project with APPSUK.

The car boot sale is on this Sunday 27th May at New Smithfield Market.

Please can you put these items aside so that i can come and collect them the night before the sale. Would be great if you could put price tags/stickers on them. Let me know if you have any heavy/bulky items.

Please come along, buy from us and support us. Lots & lots of bargains to be picked up. We’ll be there from 7am till 2pm.

Without having to hold any auction or raffle prizes or any demands for donations, we raised approx £ 4,000.00  purely from ticket sales and generous donations from all our guests.

As i mentioned previously, the sensory room is already used by the children at the Seashell Trust since it opened, and the feedback from the school and the carers is that the children absolutely love it.

If anyone wishes to go to the school and see for themselves, they are more than welcome to do so, just let me know, so I can arrange a visit.

Children and young adults are our future, and if we can be the change for them, to have a full life, to have the dreams and aspirations as we all have, to fulfill them, then it is our duty to help them achieve that.

All members have been really busy with their work commitments and this year we decided not to take up a particular project, but having said that, we’ve still managed to raise awareness of our organisation and raise monies for worthwhile causes.

I was personally asked by the British Muslim Heritage Centre in Manchester, to speak as a keynote speaker at the launch of the “Friends’ of the British Muslim Heritage Centre.” This was well received and raised awareness of not only the BMCH, but also our organisation.

During the month of Ramadan, I collected over £2300, at our local mosque, Altrincham Muslim Association, for the Islamic Reliefs’ ‘East Africa Appeal’. This donation was achieved through the dedicated efforts of all the ladies of Hale, Hale Barns and Altrincham, who attended the Quranic readings/lectures everyday throughout the month of Ramadan and kindly donated their zakat and sadaqa funds.

A kind donor has raised over £230 for the Zanfhas’ funds, to use in a project which we deemed to be worthwhile, of which £100 was donated to UWT / Team Casablanca for a sponsored 215km bike trek in the atlas mountains in Morrocco, to raise money for various projects in Africa and East Asia. I will keep you posted as to where the other £130 is used.

And finally, the £10.000 we raised for a sensory room at the Seashell Trust, doing various fundraisers, the highlight of which was our teams’ 84mile walk along Hadrians’ Wall, has just been finished and opened and used by the children at the Seashell Trust. We all went along to see it, and let me tell you, we were thrilled with the outcome. It’s a really nice room, well equipped, and to see the children using it and enjoying it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Well done to everyone! Zanfhas’ teams’ heartfelt thank you to each and everyone who donated to make this possible, THANK YOU.

I would like to thank  Shuaib and his team for organising such a  prestigious event and bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate their achievements. It was attended by well over 300 people.

I’ll post the link to their site once the photos are up, which should be quite soon, but in the meantime here’s just a few which were taken last night by my husband.

The event aims to reward community groups and individuals of ALL backgrounds and cultures as well as business and sporting talent within the North-West.

The nominations are made via the Asian Image and Fusion Awards websites.
